Playing Piano is Fun

Hello and welcome! Teaching piano is my passion. My aim is to connect your child to the music they love in a very enjoyable way while maintaining disciplined progress in the fundamentals. After a decade of one to one instruction, I branched out into teaching group lessons and found that most kids learn a whole lot faster and have way more fun along the way.

Small four student group format allows for faster learning through:

  • Fun and competitive games
  • Dynamic and multi-sensory methods to practice sight reading and drill fundamental concepts with ample opportunity for repetition
  • Regular opportunities to perform in front of peers reducing stage fright
  • Observation
  • Helping other students

Students are encouraged to:

Tuition & Curriculum

Students, ages 7 and up, attend a one hour group session once per week at my home studio, located in Arlington, Washington. Tuition is a flat rate and does not fluctuate based on illness, vacation time, recital season etc.

  • Tuition is $100 per student per month due on the first of each month.
  • An annual $35 materials fee is due at the beginning of the school year.
  • Families are responsible for purchasing or printing and assembling the curriculum book needed for each student.

Alongside my own methods in class, I also use the Free Piano Method, designed by Mayron Cole. Her curriculum is excellent and was designed for small group instruction.

Required Books

Beginning level students will need the "pre-level 1" book by Mayron Cole. After that, levels are listed in chronological order up to level nine. All Mayron Cole books are available for free (Printing and assembly required) at FreePianoMethod.com. Students progress at their own pace, and parents will need to buy or assemble the books for them as they move up to the next level.

Pre-assembled printed copies can be purchased on Amazon:

Policies

Illness policy

Please keep in mind the policy for the music studio is more conservative than a school. If your child has a productive cough and/or a constant runny nose, please reschedule. If your child has had any flu related symptoms within the last week, please reschedule. I teach in my home and ask this to respect my own family's health as well as the other students in the group class. Thank you.

Make Up Policy

One make up lesson is offered per month for cancellations made for any reason. If I have to cancel for any reason, I will offer an additional make up slot.

Please use Calendly to schedule.

Important: if you need more than one spot because of multiple children, each spot has to be individually reserved.
